Wilfrid Humbert, pianist and conductor
French pianist and conductor born in 1970. After graduating from Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris in 1988 and price winner of international competitions ( France, Italy, USA) Wilfrid Humbert attented master classes under renowned artists such as Aurele Nicolet ( European Mozart Academy, Warsaw), Alexis Golovin (Mozarteum of Salzburg) and Martha Argerich (Geneva). Mr Humbert has given concerts throughout Europe and in prestigious venues such as the National Concert Hall of Madrid, the Philharmonic Hall in Krakow and Warsaw, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Phiharmonic Hall in Erevan (Armenia), the Lincoln Center, where he conducted from the piano the W.A Mozart concertos No. 12 and 14 and more recently the famous Carnegie Hall in New-York.
As a soloist he also performed with the Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra (Rumania), the Bern Chamber Orchestra (Switzerland) and the russians symphonics orchestras of Tambov, Minsk, Briansk (as conductor) and Voronej, under Erwin Acel, Kaspar Zenhder, Edward Ambarzumian and Sheldon Morgenstern.
As a conductor Wilfrid Humbert was also invited by the National Taiwan Symphonic Orchestra to conduct Ravel's Bolero and Tchaikowsky Romeo and Julietta.
He recently live recorded the Tchaikowsky piano concerto No.1 with the European Philharmonic Orchestra conduted by Hugues Reiner.
Wilfrid Humbert devotes a substantial portion of his time to teaching. A number of his students are prize winners in french national competitions. He is the co-founder of the "New Europa Chamber Orchestra" and share with Nicolas Krauze the musical direction.
